A Week of Healing and Brotherhood for Veterans

This past week, something truly powerful took place.
Six American veterans who have carried the weight of freedom on their shoulders were given the opportunity to set that burden down, if only for a few days. Through the generosity and dedication of Warhawgs, these heroes experienced something many take for granted: peace, connection, and the healing power of the outdoors.
The week was filled with meaningful moments. Nights spent hog hunting under starlit skies. A full day of skeet shooting shoulder to shoulder. Time on the water casting lines, sharing laughter, and trading stories. These were not just recreational activities. This was therapy without walls. This was brotherhood restored. This was a reminder that our veterans are not forgotten, that their service still matters, and that they matter.
Ironmen Outdoor Ministries Gulf Coast Region was humbled and honored to support this mission. Being part of something larger than ourselves, something that gives back to those who have already given so much, is at the heart of what we do.
Veterans from three different states participated in this retreat, representing Alabama, Florida, and Texas, including one veteran from Hunting with Soldiers. A special thank you to Melanie Wooten for providing incredible desserts and muffins that added warmth and comfort to the week.
Thank you to Warhawgs and their dedicated staff for allowing us to walk alongside you in this effort. You are not simply hosting retreats. You are changing lives.
To our veterans: you are not alone. Whether in the woods, on the water, or back home, we see you. We honor you. And we stand with you.
